Beef: Bott Pie

Bott Pie

3 cups flour
2 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs, broken into a cup - fill cup with milk


Mix all together. May need a little extra milk. Must be consistency of pie dough. Put pan of water and salt on to boil. Roll out Bot Pie on floured board. Cut into squares approximately 2x2 inches. Place squares in boiling water for a short while. It is done when they float to top. When done, put into chicken broth with chicken, potatoes, and onion (whole). Simmer 10 minutes.


Bott Boi:
1 lb. beef, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 cup flour
2 stalks celery, diced
3 carrots, peeled and diced
Salt and pepper to taste
6 to 8 potatoes, cut into cubes
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 pkg. Bott Boi noodles
Beef bouillon, optional


Put flour, salt, pepper and beef in plastic bag. Shake to evenly coat beef. Brown coated beef in Dutch oven. Add approximately 2 quarts water. Cook until tender. Add diced carrots, celery and onions. Add potatoes and noodles and continue cooking until done, about 20 minutes. Make sure there is enough water to cover. Check seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste. Bouillon may be added to enhance flavor. Serves 4.
