Hamburger Pot Pie

Karen's Hamburger Pot Pie
Category: Meat Pies
Serves: 6

Crust:
2 cups flour
3/4 cups CriscoŽ
1 tsp. onion salt
1/4 cup cold water

Filling
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1 (15-16 oz.) can green beans, drained, or 1 pkg. frozen, cooked or 2 cups fresh, cooked
1 can (10 oz.) tomato soup
1 tsp. salt
1 TBL. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. oregano

Crust:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix flour and Crisco, cutting until crumbly. Add onion salt and cold water. Divide into 2 crusts. Put first crust in 9 1/2 inch (deep dish) pie pan. Note: If you wish, you can substitute ready pie crusts from the grocery store.

Filling:
Cook together ground beef and onion until meat browns lightly. Stir in beans. Add tomato soup, salt, sugar, pepper and oregano. Pour into crust. Place 2nd crust on top and, cut steam holes and flute edges.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes (glass) or at 425 deg. for 20-25 minutes (for metal).
