Heavenly Pot Roast
3 pounds beef pot roast
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup water
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 sliced onions
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoons oil
Sauce:
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup catsup
2 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Heat oil in heavy saucepan or deep skillet. Rub meat with salt and pepper; brown in hot fat. Add water, tomato sauce, onions and garlic.
Cover and cook over low heat about 2 hours. Combine remaining ingredients; add to roast and continue cooking for one hour more (thicken sauce if necessary).
