Roast a la Bella

1 roast (chuck,sirloin) approx. 2-3 lbs.
4 cloves garlic
1 onion (medium size)
1/4 to 1/2 cup red wine
white pepper
1/2 cup water (or so)
paprika
salt
olive oil
2-3 frozen tomatoes
white potatoes
carrots


Wash roast in a bowl of cold water. Mince garlic, cut up onions; in roast pot on med-heat fry both in olive oil.

When about done, add paprika (couple of tablespoonfuls), white pepper (about 1 Tbl.) and salt . Add roast to pot and brown on all sides. Add red wine and water.

Add in frozen tomatoes. Simmer for a couple of minutes. Add peeled potatoes and carrot (the amount of these depends on the number that you are serving- but maybe 8-10 potatoes and 3-5 carrots).

Bake at 375 - 400 for 1 hour. Now this is the best part: after the 1 hour, remove the roast and slice into relatively thin pieces.

Put back into pot and put potatoes and carrots on top.

You may have to add more water if necessary. Bake for another hour or so.
