Salisbury Steak

1 (10 1/2 oz.) can French Onion soup, divided
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

Sauce:
1/4 c. catsup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
1/4 c. water
1 Tbsp. flour

Thoroughly mix 1/3 c. soup with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper; shape into 6 oval patties. In large frying pan, brown patties; drain well.

Mix remaining soup with catsup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, water and flour. Pour over patties in pan. Lower heat and cook about 20 minutes or until desired doneness.

NOTE: To make meatloaf, double the first 6 ingredients and cook as you usually would a regular meatloaf; even though the gravy has catsup as an ingredient, it is not similar to a tomato-based gravy.
