Combination Soup: Button Soup

Button Soup

500 grams (1 pound) minced meat (half beef, half pork)
paprika and pepper, to taste
1-2 vegetable stock cubes
4-5 large carrots, sliced
4-5 large firm potatoes, cubed
1 small swede, cubed
1 turnip, cubed
broccoli and cauliflower florets
300 grams sweetcorn, frozen
300 grams frozen peas


Fry meat in a frying pan. Spice with paprika and pepper; set aside.

Boil an inch of water in the pot, add vegetable stock cube(s). Add carrots, swede and turnip cubes. Let boil for 10 minutes. Add potatoes and cauliflower and broccoli florets. Add boiling water to just cover the veggies. Let simmer 10 more minutes. Add frozen vegetables and meat, and some oregano or herbs to your choice. Add boiling water if needed. Serve with warm bread and cheese.
