Pork Chops with Apple Stuffing

6 pork chops
2 tbsp. butter
1 recipe for apple stuffing (follows)
3 tart red apples, cored and halved


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Slowly brown chops on both sides in hot butter. Season with salt and pepper. Place in a shalow baking dish, cover each with a layer of stuffing and half an apple. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until the chops are done.

Apple stuffing:
3 cups bread cubes, toasted
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup condensed beef broth or 1 bouillon cube dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water
1/2 cup seedless raisins
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper


Toss together bread cubes, apple, raisins, celery, onion and seasonings. Add beef broth and toss ligthly to moisten.
