Sausage Tempters in Applesauce

1 pound pork sausage
2 cups applesauce
1 ounce cinnamon red candies
2 drops red food coloring


Form sausage in 3/4 inch balls. Brown meatballs in skillet, turning to brown evenly. Place a toothpick in each ball.

In saucepan, heat applesauce, candies and food coloring until candies are dissolved. Place sausage balls in sauce, toothpick side up. Serve immediately or reheat in a chafing dish to serve.

Makes 4 dozen
