Sauerkraut Pork Casserole

1 (16 Oz.) Can Sauerkraut -- Drained
4 Slices Boneless Pork Sirloin -- About 1 Pound
1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
3/4 Cup Barbecue Sauce


Heat oven to 350. Spread sauerkraut evenly in bottom of ungreased rectangular baking dish, 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inches.

Place pork in a skillet and brown both side quickly. Place pork on kraut; sprinkle with garlic powder.

Spread barbecue sauce over pork. Cover and bake about one hour or until pork is no longer pink.

Smoked Pork and Sauerkraut

3 Tbsp. Butter
2 Onions -- Thinly Sliced
3 Cups Sauerkraut -- Rinsed and Drained
1 Lb. Boneless Smoked Pork Chops
1 Tbsp. Chopped Green Bell Pepper
1/3 Cup Water
Salt And Pepper -- To Taste


In a large skillet, cook onions in butter until golden brown. Add sauerkraut; cook about 8 minutes or until kraut starts to lightly brown, stirring occasionally.

Add pork, bell pepper, water, salt and pepper. Cover; cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until pork is thoroughly heated.

NOTES : Browning the sauerkraut boots the flavor.
