Baked Beans with Sausage

2 pounds kielbasa or smoked sausage
6 cans pork and beans in tomato sauce (16-oz.ea.)
2 cups chopped onion
1 1/2 cups molasses
1 cup catsup
6 slices bacon -- cut in half
Chopped parsley -- optional


Preheat oven to 300 F.

Cut sausage into 1-inch pieces. Saute part at a time in large skillet until lightly brown. Add beans, onion, molasses and catsup to sausage, stirring to combine.

Divide bean mixture between two 3-quart casseroles. Lay 6 pieces of bacon on top of each casserole.

Bake uncovered for 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
