Sausage Gravy and Biscuits
1 pound ground pork sausage
5 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
4 cups milk
Biscuits (recipe below)
Spray a large skillet with PamŽ cooking spray.
Brown sausage and drain well.
Add flour and stir till well blended. Stir in milk, salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil and stir until thickens.
Serve over biscuits.
Baking Powder Biscuits:
2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening.
Stir in milk.
Turn onto a floured board and pat into a circle 1/2-inch thick.
Cut out biscuits. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown
on bottoms.
