1 pound hamburger (450 grams)
1 cup evaporated milk (250 ml.) no substitutes
1 cup fine bread crumbs (250 ml.)
1/2 cup brown sugar (125 ml.)
2 tablespoons vinegar (30 ml.)
1 can diced pineapple juice included (19 oz.)
1 tablespoon each Worcestershire sauce, light salt soy sauce, mustard and plum sauce (15 ml.)
1 cup water (250 ml.)
1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed in approximately 1/2 cup water (15 ml. in 125 ml.)

In a large bowl mix hamburger, bread crumbs and evaporated milk. Form into 4 patties and cook in style you prefer (fried, grilled or broiled).

While meat is cooking make sauce by placing next seven ingredients plus water in a medium sized saucepan over medium heat stirring constantly for about five minutes. Add cornstarch and cook until sauce is thickened. Stir constantly so lumps don't form and pour over hamburgers served on a bed of steamed white rice.
