Casserole for a Crowd

2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
8 ounces wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
1 can whole kernel corn (15 1/4 oz.)
1 can peas (15 1/4 oz.)
1 can mushroom stems and pieces (8 oz.)
4 cups (16 oz.) shredded cheddar, divided
1 can cream of celery soup, undiluted-(10 3/4 oz.)
1 1/4 cup milk
1 Tbs. chili powder
1 Tbs. Worchestershire sauce
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Brown beef with onion; drain. Transfer to a greased baking dish (large). Add noodles, corn, peas, and mushrooms. Mix well.

In a saucepan mix 2 1/2 cups of cheese, soup, milk, and seasonings. Cook and stir over low heat till cheese melts. Pour over noodle mixture, mix well. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered at 350º for 30 minutes
