Chocolate Cherry Strudel

3 Tbl. Butter
1 cup cherry pie filling
1/2 tsp. almond extract
5 sheets phyllo dough
One (1 1/2 oz.) Milk-chocolate candy bar, broken into pieces
1 Tbl. Confectioners' sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt butter. In a bowl, combine pie filling and almond extract.

On a large piece of waxed paper, spread out 1 sheet of phyllo and brush with butter. Top with another sheet of phyllo, brush with butter and repeat, using all dough and 2 1/2 tablespoons of butter.

Arrange candy bar pieces in 2 rows across one end of dough, leaving a margin of about 1 1/2". Top with filling. Roll up strudel nearly all way, using waxed paper to help. Fold two ends in and finish rolling strudel (chocolate should be on bottom of finished roll).

Place on an ungreased baking sheet, seam side down. Brush with remaining 1/2 tablespoon butter. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until golden. Cool until just warm, dust with confectioners' sugar and serve.
