Strudel

elinorw posted 01-27-99

1 cup sweet butter
2 cups flour
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all together; form into 4 balls. Refrigerate for one hour or overnight. Roll out on floured pastry cloth into rectange and fill with:

1 can Solo filling, any flavor
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 box golden raisins
1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Take a few tablespoons Solo filling and spread on the dough. Then take a handful of the raisin mixture and scatter it on top of the filling. Roll jelly roll fashion and put seam side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Do the same with the remaining 3 balls of dough.

Bake 350 for one hour. When cool, slice diaganolly and sprinkle with powdered sugar. It will melt in your mouth, is easy to make and tastes much better than phyllo or puff pastry.
