Bavarian Apple Tart
Crust:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup flour
Cream butter, vanilla and sugar. Blend in flour. Press down dough onto the bottom and 1 1/2 inches up the side of a greased 9" spring form pan.
Filling:
8 oz. Cream cheese softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
Combine softened cream cheese and sugar Mix well and add egg and vanilla and pour onto crust.
Topping:
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
4 large Granny Smith Apples, peeled and sliced thin.
Preheat oven to 450° F.
Combine sugar and cinnamon and put into a ziplock bag. Shake to mix. Add apple slices and shake bag, coating all apple slices. Arrange slices in a circular pattern.
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 and bake for 25 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
Serve with vanilla ice cream
