Easy Fried Apple Pies
1 pound dried apples
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
10 uncooked biscuits
1/2 pound shortening
To make filling, cook apples until tender, then mash thoroughly and add sugar and spices.
Refrigerate overnight.
To make dough, roll out biscuits to the size of a saucer.
Spread 1/2 cup of filling on each biscuit.
Fold over, crimping edges with a fork. Fry in hot oil (2 inches deep) at 350 °F. Fry until brown, then turn over and fry other side.
