French Silk Chocolate Pie
1 (9) inch pie shell, baked
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teas. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teas. vanilla
3 ounces of sliced almonds, toasted
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add chocolate, cocoa and vanilla blend well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating 5 minutes after each addition. Pour into pie shell. Chill for 2 hours.
Combine whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla; beat to stiff peaks. Garnish pie with whipped cream and toasted almonds.
