Timesaving German Chocolate Pie

1 (9 inch) pie crust
4 oz. bar sweet cooking chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 can ready to spread coconut pecan frosting
whipped cream, optional

Preheat to 350.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and butter, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

In a small bowl, beat eggs until well blended. Add frosting and 3 tbsp flour; blend well. Stir in chocolate mixture.

Pour into pie shell. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the edge comes out clean.
The filling puffs during baking.

Cool completely. Serve with whipped cream, if desired. Store in refrigerator. 10 servings.
