Cream Pie

2 egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 upc milk
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tbsp butter
pinch of salt
1 tbsp vanilla


Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 - recipe doesn't give time, but I'd guess about an hour.



Cream Pie

3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
pinch of salt
2 cup milk
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp butter


Using a mixing bowl, beat egg yolks. Add milk.

Sift flour, salt and sugar and place in the top of a double boiler. Stir in 1/3 cup of the milk and egg mixture into dry ingredients to form a paste. Then stir in remaining liquid. Cook until mixture is very thick.

Add vanilla and butter. Cool and pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue and brown.

1 heaping tbsp flour
1 cup milk
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla


Mix in order and cook over medium heat. Stir constantly - or cook in double boiler, until thick. Pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue and brown.
