Mock Lattice Top for a Pie

1/4 cup margarine -- melted
1/3 cup flour
2 Tbsp. sugar


Mix the flour and melted margarine together. Stir in the sugar. Pinch bits, roll slightly between fingers and form a lattice type top on a pie. Bake as ususal.

Dutch Crumb Pie Topping

3/4 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, chilled


Crumble all together and sprinkle over a fruit pie, instead of a top crust. Bake pie in a preheated oven 400 deg. for 1/2 hour, until fruit is bubbly and crust is golden brown.

NOTES : If you are using a frozen pie crust to make a fruit pie, this makes an excellent and easy 'top crust'!
