Fresh Fig Pie

3 cups fresh figs, peeled and sliced (1/2 to 3/4 lb.)
3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. orange peel, grated
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
unbaked pie shell
butter


Preheat oven to 450 F.

Combine fresh figs, sugar, orange peel and lemon juice and turn into pie shell; dot with butter.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes; 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Note: You may lattice strips of pastry across top if you want a top crust.
