Apple Pie Filling

10 apples Ginger gold or other
3/4 cp. sugar - 1/2 cp white 1/4 dark brown
1 1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
1/4 cp. King Arthur pie enhancer*
1 Tbs vanilla
1 Tbs dark rum, optional
2 Tbs lemon juice
2 Tbs butter


Mix dry ingredients together and pour over peeled cored sliced apples. Mix well. Add vanilla , dark rum, lemon juice. Dot with butter before sealed with top crust. Bake 425 for 15 min lower to 350 for another 45 min.

*Note: Pie enhancer can be ordered online from King Arthur web site. Very inexpensive or you can use flour as a thickener.
