Pecan Pie
1 stick butter---not margarine
1 cup sugar
3 beaten eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup White Karo Syrup
1 cup chopped pecans
Cream softened butter with sugar, until fluffy. Add beaten eggs, salt, and vanilla. Beat well. Mix in syrup thoroughly. Then stir in pecans. Have unbaked pie shell ready.
Preheat oven to 350*. With pie shell ready, mix pie filling vigorously, pour into shell and immediately put into oven. Letting mixture sit in shell or in bowl will settle sugar to the bottom. Bake for 35-40 minutes, then check. Ovens vary, so you may need to check sooner. Pie is ready when it "sets" like Jello, not sloshy.
