Pineapple Party Rollovers

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1 pkg dry yeast
1/3 cup scaled milk, cooled
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sugar
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Combine the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl and cut in shortening.
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and add to the flour mixture.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Knead on a floured surface, then shape into 2 1/2 inch balls. Chill one hour.
Roll each ball on the floured surface into a circle and cut each circle into 6 wedges.
Combine the pineapple, sugar, cornstarch, and butter in a saucepan and cook until thick, stirring frequently.
Place 1 teaspoonfull on wide end of edge and roll as for jelly roll.
Place on a greased baking sheet, point side down.
Bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown, then remove from baking sheet.
