Moms' Raisin Pie

2 cups raisins
2 cups boiling water
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/4 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
Pastry for double-crust pie
Combine raisins and water, bring to a boil. Simmer 3-5 minutes. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir into hot raisins. Stirring constantly, bring to boil. Boil for 1 minute. Pour into unbaked 9-inch pastry shell. Dot with butter, put on top crust, cut vents and flute edges. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
