Summer's Grandmother's Pastry Recipe
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 sticks or 1/2 lb butter unsalted
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup ice water
Mix everything together in a bowl or food processor. Cut in the butter
with a Pastry Blender or 2 knives. (Till fine crumbs form) Use the ice
water as glue to keep everything together. May not need the full 1/2 cup
or may even need a little more than that. Just have to use your own
judgement.
Then you can roll it into a ball or disk and wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes or so (Optional) But, it usually does help to make it easier to roll out. =-)
