County Fair Corn Dogs
1/3 cup corn meal
2/3 cup flour
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
2 Tablespoon oil
1/2 cup milk
1 Tablespoon prepared mustard
1 lb. weiners(beef or turkey)
flour
oil for frying
Combine dry ingredients.
Add egg, oil, milk and mustard; mix well.
Insert wooden skewers (or new popsickle sticks) lengthwise into weiners.
Coat weiners with flour, then dip into batter, coating well.
Fry in deep, hot oil(375* F) for 2-3 minutes or till golden brown.
You can use this coating with about anything you would deepfry, zucchini, green tomatoes, string cheese,eggplant, mushrooms etc.
