Pickled Beets

2 pounds beets, m/l
2 cups vinegar
2 cups water 2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons whole cloves


Cut off tops, place beets in sauce pan covered with water, bring to a boil and cook until fork tender. Drain and plunge in cold water slip of skins; slice .

Make syrup with vinegar, water, sugar and cloves.

After packing beets in jars cover with syrup and seal. Let set 24 hours before using.

Of course you can use canned beets, bring syrup to a boil add beets to syrup, bring to a boil, remove beets pack in jars and seal.
