posted by Connie 07-20-98 9:07 AM "No-Cook" Plum-Nutty Conserve 3 lbs. plums, pitted (do not peel) finely chopped (1/4 inch pieces) From the 3 pounds you want to end up with 4 cups chopped plums 1/4 cup orange juice 1 teas. grated orange rind 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts 3 1/4 cups sugar 1 box Sure Jell pectin Measure the 4 cups chopped plums into large bowl. Add orange juice, rind and walnuts. Stir the dry pectin into the 1/4 cup sugar, mix well. Gradually add pectin-sugar mix to fruit, juice and stir vigorously. Let stand 30 minutes, stirring about every 10 minutes. Gradually stir the remaining 3 cups sugar into fruit mix. Stir until sugar dissolves. Fill clean, dry plastic containers to 1/2 inch of top. Wipe off top edge of container and cover with lids. Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours. Store in freezer until opened, after opening, store in refrigerator, up to 3 weeks.
