Bread and Butter Pickles
1 C water
1 tsp salt
1/2 C white vinegar
1/2 C sugar
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp mustard seed
2 cucumbers, thinly sliced
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
In a saucepan, heat first 4 ingredients on low until thoroughly dissolved. Then stir in the celery and mustard seeds. Pour over cucumbers, and onion. Refrigerate and allow the flavors to meld overnight. They are crispy and sweet/tangy.
