Licorice Slaw
1 bulb anise (fennel)
2 navel oranges
1 red bell pepper, slivered
1 cup red onion slices
2-3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Remove leaves from anise and cut stalks and bulb into bitesized (small) pieces.
Cut peel and white pith from oranges and cut into supremes (holding the orange, cut between sections to release, then cut supremes in half.
Add to anise along with pepper and onion. Add oil and vinegar and toss well. Add salt and pepper to taste.
