Marinated Broccoli Stems
3 to 4 stalks broccoli stems
1/2 small carrot, julienne cut
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. finely chopped garlic
1 tsp. sesame oil
1/2 tsp. or to taste hot pepper paste
Cut stems off broccoli crown. Cut outer layer off the stems and cut stems into thin slices and julienne.
In a bowl mix broccoli, carrot, and salt. Mix well and cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
The salt marinates the veggies and makes them tender. Add garlic, oil and hot pepper paste, toss and either serve or
refrigerate to serve later.
Note: You can use the pre-packaged broccoli slaw here too.
