Kansas City Barbecue Sauce

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup dark molasses


Sift together the dry spices into a bowl. Stir in vinegar, then add hot sauce, ketchup, and dark molasses and mix until very well blended.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Sauce may be stored in airtight container in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks or in freezer for up to 6 months. Makes 2 cups
