Vita's Tomato Sauce (adapted)

1/4 cup 100% pure olive oil
1 small onion -- finely chopped
1 clove garlic – minced
1 (32 oz.) can imported crushed tomatoes
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. oregano
5 leaves fresh basil
1/4 cup dry white wine
Combine oil, onion and garlic in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until slightly browned. Add remaining ingredients and cook over medium heat 30 minutes. Serve over pasta.
