Worcestershire Sauce 
3 cups brown vinegar 
1/2 cup treacle 
1/2 cup plum jam 
1 small onion, chopped 
1 clove garlic, crushed 
1/4 tsp. chilli powder 
1 tsp. ground allspice 
1/4 tsp. ground cloves 
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.  
 
Stir over heat until mixture boils, simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. 
 Strain mixture into hot sterillised jars; seal when cold.  
Makes about 2 cups.
