Martha's Popcorn Balls
(An old classmate)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 (10-oz.) package marshmallows (40 large)
6-8 cups popped popcorn
(food coloring, if desired)
Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows
and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. (Add food
coloring.) Add popcorn. Stir until well coated.
Butter hands. Form popcorn into balls and place on cookie sheet
(buttered, greased, or Pam sprayed) to harden.
Note: this is basically the goop from Rice Krispies bars applied
to popcorn. The balls taste really good and won't break your
teeth.
