Tomato Bisque

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 cup butter 
1 cup chopped celery 
1 cup chopped onion 
1/4 cup chopped carrots 
1/3 cup flour 
4 cups chicken stock 
6 large tomatoes -- peeled and chopped 
2 teaspoons sugar 
1 teaspoon dried marjoram 
1 teaspoon dried basil 
1 bay leaf 
1/4 teaspoon paprika 
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 
1/2 teaspoon curry powder 
salt and pepper 
2 cups heavy cream 


Saute celery, onions, and carrot in butter for 3-5 minutes; stir in flour. 
Pour in chicken stock and allow to thicken stirring constantly. 

Add tomatoes and spices, and simmer for 30 minuted. 

Add cream and heat just before serving.
