Party Guacamole
5 ripe avocados
5 Tbsp. lime or lemon juice
1 medium-sized ripe tomato, seeded and coarsely chopped
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
sour cream
Halve avocados lengthwise; remove pits and scoop flesh into medium-sized mixing bowl. Add lemon juice. Mash avocado with potato masher until moderately creamy (leave a few lumps). Stir in tomato, garlic and salt.
Spread sour cream over surface of guacamole (this helps keep it from turning brown). Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Just before serving, stir to mix sour cream and guacamole.
