Beef Stew
1 pound stew meat
flour for dredging
salt and pepper, to taste
2 to 3 (soda size) cans V-8 juice
3/4 cup sliced celery
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
2 cups diced potatoes
1 1/4 cups chopped onion
2 small cans mushrooms
1 tsp. thyme
3 cubes beef bouillon
1 cup red wine, or more to taste
Coat stew meat with a mixture of flour and pepper. Brown it well on all sides. Add remaining ingredients and let simmer until nice and thick and all vegetables are done.
