Beef Stew

2 lbs of stew meat
4 small white potatoes
3 carrots
2 ribs of celery
1 tsp thyme
1 c beef broth
1 beer (12 oz)
1 tsp of garlic
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp olive oil


Brown the meat in a pan in small batches at a time; remove to a plate to rest. Salted and peppered it to taste. When all the meat was done add the beef broth, thyme, beer, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and bay leaf and bring up to a boil.

Layer potatoes, carrots and celery in a crock pot, followed by the meat and then put the liquid over it all. Let it cook for 6 1/2 hours on low heat.
