Easy Oven Beef Stew
3/4 pound boneless beef round steak, cubed
1 tablespoon cooking oil
4 medium potatoes, cut in 1-inch cubes
5 medium carrots, cut in 1 1/2-inch chunks
1 celery rib, cut in 1-inch chunks
1 large onion, cut in 1-inch chunks
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
1 teaspoon browning sauce
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup frozen peas
In a Dutch oven, brown beef in oil. Add next 8 ingredients; cover and cook at 300° F. for 4 to 5 hours, stirring twice.
Add peas during the last 30 minutes of baking.
