Low-Sodium Beef Stew
1 tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. lemon Balm
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 lb. carrot slices
4 Tbsp. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. chervil
1/8 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 lb. lean (bottom round) beef cubes
1 1/2 lb. potato cubes
2 cups water
Mix flour and herbs in a plastic bag; shake a handful of beef into the mixture at a time, then brown in heated oil. After all the beef is browned, add vegetables and water to the pot with the beef. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
