Cabbage: Baked Cabbage

Baked Cabbage

1 Med. head of cabbage
1/2 c water
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 Tbsp sugar
4 Tbsp butter
1 c milk
1 c grated cheddar cheese


Cut the cabbage into wedges and steam in the water in a covered saucepan for about 4 min. Drain and place cabbage in a greased 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with the flour, salt, pepper and sugar. Dot with butter. Pour milk over the cabbage and top with the grated cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 min. Should be golden on top and bubbling around the sides.
