Candied Sweet Potatoes

Candied Sweet Potatoes (Yams)

6 medium sweet potatoes, cooked and halved lengthwise, or (2) 16 0z. cans sweet potatoes, drained 
1/2 Cup packed brown sugar 
1/2 Cup dark corn syrup 
1/4 butter or margarine 


Preheat oven to 350F.  Arrange sweet potatoes in ovenproof baking dish. 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter.  Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
 
Pour over the potatoes, bake for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are well 
glazed and tender. 

Serves 6
