Chinese Beets

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

3 (17 Oz.) Cans Beets (6 Cups) -- sliced or chunk
1 1/2 Cups Beet Liquid
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Vinegar
3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
12 Cloves -- whole
3 Tablespoons Ketchup
3 Tablespoons Oil
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Dash Salt


Place all ingredients, including beets in medium saucepan. Mix well.

Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes or until mixture thickens.

Let cool and store in refrigerator.

Keeps for several weeks.
