Crispy Green Beans

1 pound fresh green beans
1 quart water
1 clove garlic, crushed or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
1-1/2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper


Leave beans whole. Bring water to boil, add beans, cover and return to boil. Immediately remove from heat and drain. Heat garlic and oil in large heavy skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes. Add beans and stir-fry 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender and just beginning to lightly brown. Remove from heat, add salt and pepper and serve. Serves 5 to 6.
