Scalloped Potatoes ala Julie's Internet

2 Pounds Russet potatoes peeled and sliced thin
2 Shallots sliced thin
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Salt and Pepper
1 cup grated fontina cheese


Arrange 1/2 of sliced potatoes in a shallow pan. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle shallots over potatoes. Put remaining potatoes over the onions.

Combine whipping cream, broth and pinch of nutmeg and pour over potatoes and onions. Cover with foil and bake at 400 degrees in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle top with 1 cup of grated Fontina cheese. Bake 15 more minutes uncovered.
