Garlic Mashed Potatoes

6 med. potatoes, cut into large pieces
6 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1/4 tsp salt
dash of pepper


Place potatoes and garlic in 3 qt. saucepan; add water to cover. Cover and heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes; drain. Shake potatoes in saucepan over low heat to dry.

Mash potatoes and garlic in medium bowl until no lumps remain. Add milk in small amounts, beating after each addition, till they are smooth and fluffy.

Add remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously until potatoes are light and fluffy.

6 servings.
